Emma Abbate's regular collaborations include:



EWA MIZERSKA - cello

Evva Mizerska was born in Poland. In 2001 she graduated with highest distinction from the cello class at Frédéric Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw. During the years 2001-2004 she completed the PGD and MMus courses at Trinity College of Music in London, where she studied with Richard Markson and was awarded a full scholarship for three subsequent years from this institution.

During 2000 Evva received the 1st Prize at the 7th International L. Janácek Competition in Brno, Czech Republic together with pianist Katarzyna Glensk. She was also awarded scholarships at Dartington Summer Music School, Kronberg Academy (where she studied with Bernard Greenhouse) and for masterclasses during the 3rd World Cello Congress in Baltimore as one of forty young cellists from all over the world. In 2002 Evva was awarded the Joan Greenfield scholarship; during the same year she also won the Vivian Joseph Cello Prize and the Leonard Smith Duo Prize in London. In 2005 Evva received a grant-award from the Solti Foundation and in 2006 she became a Junior Fellow at Trinity College of Music in London. Her distinguished teachers have been Richard Markson, Andrzej Zielinski and Piotr Hausenplas.

Evva Mizerska gives regularly concerts in a duo with pianist Emma Abbate, with whom she has also recently premiered Polish works, and has also been performing chamber music with partners such as violinist Mayumi Fujikawa and cellist Richard Markson, pianists Katarzyna Glensk, Robert Thompson and Aleksander Szram. Evva has appeared in solo and chamber music concerts in Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, Austria and the UK; she has given major recitals at such venues as Croydon Fairfield Halls, Blackheath Halls, St. Martin-in-the-Fields in London, Pump Room in Bath, Cheltenham Hall, Nola-Salzburg Festival in Salzburg, and Associazione Aldo Ciccolini in Naples, Italy. Currently Evva lives in London; she is a cello lecturer at Morley College and works as a cellist-soloist for Gary Parkes Music Agency.







ELENA BRESCIANI - soprano

The Italian soprano Elena Bresciani was born in 1976. Praised by the press as  “an authentic  verdiana  voice”, Elena Bresciani has an incredible voice for volume and range of colors. She began studying the bel canto repertoire at the age of thirteen. In 1998, Elena continued her vocal studies at the Vama Academy of Music in Bulgaria. She then returned to Italy to attend the Conservatory of Music in Bergamo to study with composer and singer Silvia Bianchera Bettinelli where she graduated with High Honours. After obtaining her postgraduated degree at the University of Milan in voice and acting & drama, she studied with Julia Hamari in Florence. Actually, she improves with the famous baritone Roberto Coviello in Milan and with the great American soprano Phyllis Curtin in the United States. In 1999 she made her operatic debut as Violetta in La Traviata at the Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo. In 2000, Bresciani won the prestigious Johann Simon Mayr Prize, that lead to the roles of the Contessa in the Nozze di Figaro, Mimi in La Boheme, and as Celestina in the eighteenth century comic opera, Che originali, by J.S. Mayr.  She has also featured as soloist for numerous choral works including Vivaldi's Gloria for the Pope's Jubilee in Rome as well as Mozart's Exultate Jubilate, Vivaldi's Magnificat, Verdi's Requiem and Orff Carmina Burana. In 2001, Bresciani was invited to participate in the Giuseppe Verdi's Anniversary Celebrations in Milan where she performed in a “24 hour-non stop music festival” with the famous mezzo soprano Giulietta Simionato. Between 2001 to 2003 she was a regular guest of the Mozart Association featuring in their season at the Sala Barozzi in Milan.  Elena teaches singing and drama at the Accademia Musicale Rubini in Romano di Lombardia.

During 2005/2006 season she performed twice at the Carnegie Hall in New York and  was then appointed Fellow of Trinity College of Music (London). She has recently broadcasted a DVD for the German TV Saarländischer Rundfunk (SR).

Together with pianist Emma Abbate, Elena is also a member of Duo Leda





CATHERINE LINDLEY - violin

Catherine Lindley was born in Pinner and, last year, completed her Postgraduate Diploma at the Royal Academy of Music. Catherine has appeared as soloist in Bruch’s G minor concerto with the Exeter Symphony Orchestra, Vivaldi’s ‘Spring’ with the Hillingdon Philharmonic Orchestra and Sarasate’s Carmen Fantasy at the St. Judes’ Proms in London. She has received awards from the RAM Friends to attend master-classes with Sergei Kravchenko in Portugal and the Clifford Benson International Summer School.

A keen chamber musician, Catherine won the Sir Edward Cooper prize as a member of the Galitzin Quartet which was also invited to play in a public master-class at the Wigmore Hall. Catherine was leader of the National Youth Sinfonia and a senior member of the National Youth Orchestra, participating in chamber concerts at the Cheltenham Festival. In 2004, together with other Academy and Juilliard students, she took part in a concert tour to New York with Sir Elton John. Catherine has recently been appointed leader of the London Phoenix Orchestra, with forthcoming concerts in Cadogan Hall and St John’s, Smith Square.

In addition to her performing activities, Catherine has taught violin and chamber music at Westminster School and set up a chamber music concert series in Pinner. She also enjoys learning martial arts and is a 5th kyu in Shotokan karate.
