Emma Abbate was awarded the LRAM teaching
diploma from the Royal Academy of Music in 2005. In addition to her
activities as a teacher and official accompanist at Trinity College of
Music, she is committed to a wide variety of educational activities.
Emma assists students in preparing for auditions and exams, and is
familiar with all the recognised examination bodies. Her students are
of all ages and abilities and she teaches both individually and in
groups.
As a repétiteur and language coach, Emma Abbate has worked for
leading companies including Opera North, Pegasus Opera, the opera
departments of both the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and the
Royal Academy of Music, St Albans Chamber Opera, Mean Time Opera, and
the international opera course at the S. Cecilia Conservatoire (Rome).
Outreach educational projects are also important
to her work, and she currently plays for the Music in Hospitals scheme
with Polish cellist Evva Mizerska.
